Welcome!

Encouraging women to be vessels of the Lords light. Even in the midst of a dark valley, He will shine His light through us as we draw from the living water

Living By Grace

Living By Grace

We are known to Him before we were conceived (Jeremiah 1:5). The Lord knows us and knitted us together in our mothers womb (Psalm 139:13). Every human being is specifically picked by him and He knows us, and we need to find our way back and know him.

For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with deep compassion I will bring you back. Isaiah 54:5

In this verse God is talking about how He was so angry at the His people for their disobedience that he rebuked them and hid his face from them. He made it impossible for them to see him and for them to find him.

Now, just like he promised to Noah never to destroy the earth again, He is promising His people that He will never rebuke them again. He says you can rely on me. That my enduring love and my covenant of peace will stand forever. Even though His chosen people rebelled and were unfaithful to God, He said that was in the past now. God is faithful to his promises and his enduring love will last forever.

Prisoners To Our Flesh

We are born in the flesh and we have fleshly desires. We may not even know what we are doing is sinful because the world may tell us that it's okay. But those sins will control us and we become slaves.

When I was younger, before I ever knew about Gods love, a picture came to my mind where I was trapped in black and grey box. There were no windows and no doors, but only a little eye slot. I looked out of that slot and saw a vivid meadow full of life and color, but I was trapped in this dark box. It had felt like someone threw away the key making it impossible for me to get to this meadow that was right in front of me.

That was the first time I felt imprisoned in my own flesh. But at the time I didn't know it. All I knew was no matter what I did, I felt lonely. No matter who I let have a piece of me, I still felt empty.

Before I began my relationship with the Lord I saw nothing wrong with what I was doing or what I used to do.  But as that relationship grew he started to correct the way I viewed life. He started to show me the path to life and corrected my spiritual blindness. HE showed me His grace and enduring love for me.

"I once was lost, but now I'm found. Was blind, but now I see." -Amazing Grace

We are prisoners to our flesh and it's desires if we allow it. But God says, in an instant we can be set free and walk in confidence. We will not die in our dungeons and will not lack our daily needs (Isaiah 51:14).

So, the life we live in this body, we must choose to live it by faith in Jesus, always trusting him because we have been set free by his grace through our faith.

We Are Made New

As I was reading Galatians chapter two this morning, I was hit by the power and hope that God so faithfully gives to us through His word.

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. Galatians 2:20

Wow. Powerful.

I have struggled with the guilt of who I used to be. For the choices I used to make and the life I was so blinded by. I have struggled with who I used to be and how it has affected my life to this day. There have been times where I have allowed the enemy to identify me as who I once was and allowed myself to cower in guilt.

But that is a lie.

I have changed my ways. I have made my life obedient to Christ. No longer does my old self live, but Christ lives in me.

And He lives in you too.

We must put our new identity in Christ. Always standing firm in that identity no matter what accusations are thrown at us. Once we ask for forgiveness God will never look back. We no longer have to feel guilty or suffer shame of who we used to be or what we used to do. We no longer have to embrace the shame of our younger self (Isaiah 54:4). We are made new!

 Keep It Up!

Yay! Christ lives in us, now what?

Yes, He now lives in us, but we must still cast off our old self daily. If we are not making the conscious decision to step into the righteousness that Jesus gives us,  we can (and will) fall back into our old ways.

that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the oldself, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth. Ephesians 4:22-24 (NASB)

I'll say it again..

Yes, He lives in us, but  we are still wrapped in flesh and we need to make the conscious decision to lay our old self aside and to step into our new self daily which is now our identity. We become clothed with Christ and doing this allows him to project his character through us.

Step into your new clothes every day!

And just as He promised

Even though we may be unfaithful to him, He will always remain faithful to us. His love for us endures forever and it can not be shaken. We will find him when we seek him. He no longer hides his face.

HE knew us before we were brought into this world. And His deep compassion will bring us back  (Isaiah 54:7). So that we can be made strong through our journey and that His power can be glorified through us.

Lets choose to live by Gods grace and step into our new identity.
