Writing Strategic Warfare Prayers

Writing Strategic Warfare Prayers

I originally sent this out as a newsletter, but as I started to think about it I decided to expand more on the context and make it into a post. Plus I wanted to give everyone access to the free printable I created to help you write your strategic prayers. This post will go into detail about what each section of the printable is for and how to effectively write your prayer.

I want to be open and vulnerable with you. I have been going through some spiritual oppression and have been plagued (at least that's what it feels like) with intense fear. I have always struggled with fear but as soon as I started to gain more confidence and reduce my fear tendency, the enemy came at me twice as hard and worse then I have ever experienced.

Satan in strategic and he finds new ways and different angles to come at us. We must be prepared and be strategic against him. Through prayer.

Through this all I was inspired to write my prayers and realized a little trick that includes five R's to build a powerful prayer.

Fighting the enemy with five R's

1. REALEASE the testimony of Jesus Christ

The first R is releasing the testimony of Jesus Christ out loud in your life, in your home and over anyone else who is in your family. Praise His name, proclaim His victory, declare that Jesus has risen and by His name every knee will bow and every tongue will confess the name of Jesus. He is the overcomer, the victor, the mighty warrior and the Lord of hosts who wins every time. Proclaim this! Praise Him, glorify Him, and lift up the name of Jesus.

Ask that Jesus would be glorified your situation, even if you are in a situation of oppression. Ask that Jesus would be magnified in your situation. Proclaim that He is the Lord and there is no other like Him. Confess that He will strengthen you in your weakness and proclaim that you acknowledge Him as lord of all. As Lord of your life.

Exalt the name of Jesus out loud and lift Him up.

Do this until you feel peace in your heart and over you, then move on to the next R.

The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. Psalm 18:2

2.REPENT for allowing anything other than God to consume you

Like I said earlier, lately I've been struggling with intense fear. Fear has been something I've struggled with since I was a child, especially the fear of being alone. I was just getting to a place of putting my full confidence in God and setting aside fear, when the enemy came at me in a new, more intense,  more personal way. And it put me right back to the struggle of fear.

I had to repent for allowing fear to consume me and for not trusting God alone.

Use this section to ask for forgiveness and confess your true need for Him and proclaim that He is in control.

From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” Matthew 4:17

3. RESIST the devil and submit to God

This is what I would recommend, getting on your knees and submitting to God. Submit your mind, your tongue, your soul, your everything to God. Then stand up and resist the devil. Keep standing for the next two R's.

Going through a valley season for me lately looks takes a lot of conscious submission. Every time I have a tormenting thought or simply a thought that does not come from God then I stop it (resist it) and submit my mind to Christ.

Ladies this can take work. There have been times where I've had to submit my mind to Christ every three minutes. It takes awareness and consistency from our part. We must deliberately be resisting the devil and submitting to God or else we leave a crack open for the enemy to come and deceive us.

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7

4. REBUKE the devil and any spirit that has tried to consume you

The definition of rebuke is to express sharp disapproval or criticism of (someone) because of their behavior or actions.

some examples of spirits to rebuke are fear, insecurity, jealousy, manipulation, control, intimidation, pride, arrogance

We must cast the enemy out of our lives and if he tires to come again we must continue to rebuke him. We must express our sharp disapproval of his actions as we refocus ourselves and be consumed with God alone.

Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered, and let those who hate Him flee before Him. Psalm 68:1

5. RENOUNCE the spirit from your life and home

The definition of renounce means to formally declare one's abandonment of (a claim, right, or possession. It means to refuse to recognize or abide by any longer. We must formally declare that we are abandoning the spirit that has tried to attach or posses us. We must recognize ourselves and then let the enemy know that we recognize that we will no longer abide and tolerate with the methods of the enemy any longer. That we will only abide in Christ Jesus.

It is important to renounce any demonic spirit from your life and home.

I always end my prayers thanking God for His faithfulness and proclaiming that He has the victory and the glory.

Other key words for your prayer

Here are some power key words to use when writing your prayer.

Ordain- make (someone) a priest or minister; confer holy orders on. Order or decree (something) officially.

You can say that you ordain the enemy to be cast out which basically means you are ordering it to leave in Jesus name.

Proclaim- announce officially or publicly, declare something one considers important with due emphasis.

I love to use the word proclaim in these types of warfare prayers. To proclaim the name of Jesus over my life and my house. By proclaiming, you are officially announcing that Jesus is Lord and seated on the throne in your life.

Declare- say something in a solemn and emphatic manner, formally announce the beginning of (a state or condition).

Have you caught on that all these words are used to formally do something. Declare that this is the end of the enemies torment and a new beginning of the power of God in your life.

Exalt- hold (someone or something) in very high regard; think or speak very highly of.

Exalt the Lord not only by your words but by your actions and praise.

Memorize Psalm 91

This is warfare type prayers and you will get back lash. I highly recommend you memorize psalm 91 for when you start to feel the backlash of your new battle position.

The Protection of the Most High

The one who lives under the protection of the Most High
dwells in the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”

He Himself will deliver you from the hunter’s net, from the destructive plague. He will cover you with His feathers; you will take refuge under His wings. His faithfulness will be a protective shield. You will not fear the terror of the night, the arrow that flies by day, the plague that stalks in darkness, or the pestilence that ravages at noon. Though a thousand fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand, the pestilence will not reach you. You will only see it with your eyes and witness the punishment of the wicked.

Because you have made the Lord—my refuge, the Most High—your dwelling place, no harm will come to you; no plague will come near your tent. For He will give His angels orders concerning you, to protect you in all your ways. They will support you with their hands so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the young lion and the serpent.

Because he is lovingly devoted to Me, I will deliver him; I will protect him because he knows My name. When he calls out to Me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble. I will rescue him and give him honor. I will satisfy him with a long life and show him My salvation.

Time to start writing and praying

I have made a worksheet for you to help guide you when writing your prayer! It is important to fill your prayer with scripture so I have also given you a (short) list of scriptures. Please don't stop at this list. It is short. I encourage you to find more scripture to keep on hand for when you feel oppressed or attacked.

This is a warfare prayer so when you pray it, pray with passion, intensity, boldness, and with divine confidence.
